"Ars Gratia Dei"

Art for God's sake. This statement is on the letterhead of an organization to which I am honored to belong: The Catholic Art Guild. The Charism of it's spiritual affiliates, the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius, is “the restoration of the sacred in liturgy, music, and art,” It is based in Chicago at St. John Cantius Church. Below is a watercolor I painted of the interior of Sacred Heart Chapel at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, my alma mater. It contains elements that were present when only the mass of the ages was celebrated there.
